The Education System in the Midst of Pandemic

The COVID-19 outbreak causes the closure of more than hundred schools. This incident interrupts learning and education of around hundred million students. Moreover, because of climate change and civil wars, the education in many countries around the globe has also been affected negatively. 

Meanwhile, only the enormous spread of the virus forced the public health officials to employ most of the schools to stop their operations. However, the authorities are still firm on standing with their obligation in providing to the students their right to education.

Government’s Response to Education in Relation to the Pandemic

The usual educational response to the crisis will depend on the capacity of the educator to cater the system of education.

Here are the common response when it comes to the system of education during pandemic.

1. Prioritize the risk students

Children and youth experiencing educational barriers should be the one given most of the priority. Children with disabilities, students living in remote areas, and kids with parents who have lost income due to the pandemic are those classified as students at risk.

2. Utilize the most reliable technologies and methods of education

The authority, in line with the educators, should offer students the available technology in any form to make them involved. The method of education includes smartphones, chat support system, and any messaging apps. 

3. Employ measures to be taken after the crisis

There is a big school time wastage as the education systems fall. Online learning was mitigated to assist the school closures but still the authority has to guarantee that all the students must be recovered if the school reopens.
